The control unit has two separate circuits: one for the lights on the left side of the vehicle and one for the lights on the right side. The control unit is installed between the lights and the power source so that the lights are connected to the output channels of the control unit and the red wires coming from the input channel are connected to the vehicle’s battery. In this configuration, the side lights remain constantly lit at a steady brightness. The yellow wire can be used to tap the excitation current from the vehicle’s turn signals to the control unit, causing all lights connected to it to always flash in sync with the vehicle’s own turn signals and otherwise remain lit continuously at a steady level. In this way, the same side marker lights can be used both as traditional warning lights and as turn signals.
